You know what time it is in Las Vegas when the
trendiest clubs consider Wrangler blues jeans as
"business Casual" wear, valet is filled with pick-up
trucks and Stetson Cowboy hats are the hottest head
wear. Yup, that means its time for The PBR.
Every October, forty nine of the world's best bull riders
show up to find out who really is the world's best.
|
When they say these are the world's best, they mean it.
Forty five of them are the top money and points earners from
the USA, while the other four are the champions from their
home country's of Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Australia.
Than you have 155 of the best bulls in the business.
They don't send just any ole' bovine to the finals.
These are the badest bulls in the business as voted on by
the riders themselves.
Finally you have the guardians. The protectors of the
riders, the bull fighters. Again, these are the best
four bull fighters as voted by their peers.
Now these fine athletes all show up here not because of
luck, relationships or sponsorships. They make it to
Las Vegas because of over twenty six weeks of grueling
competition, they have proven to be the best in the
business. From the bulls, to the riders to the
fighters, you are seeing only the top performers in the
sport.
Its tag line is well earned. "The Toughest Sport on
Dirt"
After seven days, spread over two consecutive weekends, they
crown a world champion bull, bull rider and bull fighter.
All three will walk away with literally hundreds of
thousands of dollars in well earned prize money.
This year, the champion bull rider walks away with over
one million dollars! |
