Here is what we know so far on the “intentional” crash on Las Vegas Blvd last night. Just after 6:30 p.m, a woman (now identified as Lakeisha Holloway, 24) was heading north on Las Vegas Boulevard driving a 1996 Oldsmobile four-door sedan, drove it onto the sidewalk in front of the escalators leading into the Miracle Mile Shops at the Planet Hollywood Resort. She continued northward down the sidewalk with more than 100 pedestrians on it. She drove across a crosswalk at Paris Las Vegas and continued to drive on the sidewalk in front of the hotel-casino.
She finally veered off the sidewalk near Bally’s and drove about a mile on a flat tire to the Tuscany Hotel and Casino on the corner of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane. Where she was arrested.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (Metro) released this Statement:
Sheriff Joe Lombardo met with the media today to discuss additional details of the December 20, 2015 incident on the Las Vegas Strip where one person was killed and dozens of people injured after a woman in a vehicle struck pedestrians on a sidewalk. At approximately 6:37 p.m. LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard to investigate numerous 911 calls of a car striking dozens of pedestrians on a sidewalk in front of the Paris Hotel and Casino.

Arriving officers located many injured people on the sidewalks between Planet Hollywood, Paris and Bally’s. Las Vegas Boulevard was shut down between Harmon Avenue and Flamingo Road while medical personnel transported the injured to the UMC Trauma Center, Sunrise Trauma Center, Spring Valley Hospital, and Desert Springs Hospital. One person was later pronounced deceased at the UMC Trauma Center.

About 30 minutes after the initial incident was reported, an adult female, later identified as 24-year old Lakeisha Holloway, went to the valet area of the Tuscany Hotel located at 255 East Flamingo Road, and asked an employee to call the police. It was believed Holloway was involved in the incident on the Strip and she was taken into custody without incident. A three-year-old female was in the vehicle with Holloway who was believed to be her daughter. The child was uninjured and was turned over to Child Protective Services where they will assist in locating other family members.
The investigation indicated this incident was intentional and as a result of the investigation initiated by multiple details of the LVMPD, Holloway was arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Center where she currently faces the following charges:
- Murder with a Deadly Weapon
- Child Abuse or Neglect (felony)
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident (felony)
Once the remaining victims’ statements and medical records are put together, it is
anticipated that Holloway will face a multitude of other charges.
This is the 128th homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2015. The identity of the
deceased victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the
Clark County Coroner’s Office.
