What was The Hard Rock Resort and is currently transitioning to be The Virgin Hotel Las Vegas, has finally announced its opening date. If all stays on course, the remodeled and rebranded property will open its doors on Jan. 15, 2021
The hotel-casino had said in August that it may not open this fall as originally planned. The original date was in December. Like many other projects in Las Vegas, things either slowed down or were halted due to the COVID restrictions that led to major cancellations of conventions and events.
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will be home to the first tribal casino in the city. The casino will be known as the Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. This will be an immersive 60,000-square-foot casino, operated by Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment.
The property will also offer more than 130,000 square feet of re-inspired meeting and convention spaces and will be home to over five acres of luxury poolside and outdoor venues amidst a desert landscape. The outdoor centerpiece will be “The Event Lawn”, a 13,000 square foot outdoor entertainment space for concerts, private parties, and other events.
