The Vegas Tourist Updates!

Henderson is the second largest city in Nevada and was ranked by Forbes magazine as the second safest city in the United States.  It started out as a war town/company town to mine and process magnesium for airplane engines and warheads for battle in World War II.

In 1988, the Pacific Engineering and Production Company of Nevada (PEPCON) plant blew up. The conflagration and subsequent explosions killed two people, injured 372 others, and caused an estimated US$100 million of damage. A large portion of the Las Vegas Valley within a 10-mile radius of the plant felt the impact and several agencies activated disaster plans.

The town that was once a distant neighbor to Las Vegas is now its largest suburb.  It is the gateway from Las Vegas to Lake Mead National Recreational Area as well as Boulder City. Bob Groesbeck was Mayor of Henderson from 1993 to 1997.  During its largest growing phase.

Bob is now President of Medizin.  A medical marijuana dispensary here in Las Vegas.
