The typical Vegas tourist has been changing. Now it’s less gambling and a little more “other things. There’s also a growing segment of people wanting to use Las Vegas as a meeting place for family gatherings and reunions.

Most people would have you believe that the best way to handle an event where you may want a couple of rooms together is to try to beat the hotel booking system or reserve blocks of rooms in a casino hotel.

But wait, what if there was a better way for you and your friends to gather and have a nice place to relax and party? Away from the chaos of your typical Las Vegas Strip resort? Maybe even have a family-style dinner before hitting all the action the Strip provides?

Family-Friendly Resorts on the Las Vegas Strip

If you look closely at the Strip, you will see other places to stay—more family-friendly accommodations—one- and two-bedroom units almost like mini apartments. Spacious bedrooms. Fully furnished living areas. A kitchenette, access to a pool, and workout room. The usual amenities you would find at your average big-name casino resort hotel. But without the chaos, the smell, and the long walks to the front door.

The Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo. This little place is tucked literally behind the Las Vegas Flamingo Resort. According to my tour guests, it’s so close to the center of the Strip that you forget you’re not on it.

How about a place for the family to hang out by the pool and see what’s happening on the Sphere? The Holiday Inn Desert Club sits next to the Speher at the Venetian. Across the street are the Linq Observation Wheel and the Las Vegas Strip

Another popular one is the Marriott Grand Chateau, across from Planet Hollywood. It offers comfortable guest rooms and lavish villas with all the amenities.

The Hilton Polo Tours is in front of the Chateau, and the Carriage House is behind it. They offer a variety of accommodations.

Want something close to the Strip and easy access to a famous casino while still enjoying your time away from all the chaos?

Hilton Grand Elara is connected to the Miricle Mile Shops, which are connected to Planet Hollywood. Otherwise, we have the Signature at MGM. Again, it is very close, yet not really there. It is almost like enjoying two separate worlds at the same time!

These and other “home away from home” resorts are nice alternatives to the Vegas Mega Resort without sacrificing any of the amenities and excitement the Strip offers tourists.
