When the PBR comes into Las Vegas, just like the cowboys that are here, they bring their “A” game. And this year, that “A” game means bringing in some awesome free entertainment to get the fans warmed up for the night’s festivities. Thursday night they lit up Toshiba Plaza in front of the T-Mobile Arena with the queen of heavy metal, Lita Ford.
Lita Ford’s biggest album”Lita,” released in 1988, featured a duet with Ozzy Osbourne, “Close My Eyes Forever,” that propelled them both to the top 10 for the first time.
The 58-year-old lady of the big hair band days came to rock the fans and she did not disappoint. In fact, some people we asked in the audience pressing up against the stage, came to hear her and were oblivious to whatever else was happening inside that big building anchoring the plaza with the images of cowboys and bulls on it!
Backed by a three-piece band that tried to keep up with her legendary riffs on the electric guitar, along with the powerful smell of that wonderful medical marijuana floating in the air, brought some of us back to our youths and watching this lady electrify an audience full of fans accustomed to seeing women just as the window dressing on the stage, not the center of attention. But that’s what Lita Ford does: She cranks the volume then sets the guitar strings on fire, hoping the band and the fans can keep up with her energy and talent.
Six songs in, she even had the cowboys hanging around the stage a little longer than they should have as some of us had to leave the crowded Toshiba Plaza to return to our media cave and get ready for round two of the PBR World Finals.

She had a larger than normal smile and was walking around with a little bit of a rock to her walk. Entertaining us occasionally with some air-guitar impersonations!!
