Brightline, you know. The people building that high-speed rail between Southern California and Las Vegas. They have released new renderings that show what its trains might look like when the system is operational in 2028, including a “Party Car”
You knew there had to be a party car. This is Vegas; it has to have a party car. It will be designed in true Las Vegas fashion, featuring plush seats and a modern bar with illustrations of red and white wine.
Things are rolling along.
This is no longer a pipe dream. If everything stays on time, You will be able to catch the train up to 10 times per day, starting in 2028, just in time for the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Brightline is the company behind the $12 billion high-speed train. It has a proven track record and an already expanding rail line working in Florida. It calls this division Brightline West.
More than Just a Party Train
Most of the hype and negativity have been focused on the party car and the higher-than-expected price for those choosing to ride in all this first-class luxury, with top-tier tickets priced at around $400.
Other people will not ride for the luxury or the party aspect of the ride. Some people want a quick ride to or from Las Vegas and do not have to battle the traffic or congestion. So there will be other options. The interiors of those cars were also published.
Jobs
Siemens Mobility just broke ground on a new 300,000-square-foot facility in Horseheads, New York. The factory will create about 300 jobs, and construction of the trains is expected to begin in 2026.
More Jobs
According to our sources, Brightline West’s $12 billion infrastructure investment will create over $10 billion in economic impact for Nevada and California and generate more than 35,000 jobs, including 10,000 direct union construction roles and 1,000 permanent operations and maintenance positions.
Although the trains are being built in New York. The Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) is a 200,000-square-foot building will be located on 238 acres in Sloan, NV. Just south of The M Resort.
This site will also serve as one of two hubs for the maintenance of way operations and the operations control center. Once everything starts to operate, more than 100 permanent employees will report daily and serve as train crews, corridor maintenance crews, or operations control center teammates. A second maintenance of way facility will be at the other end, adjacent to the Apple Valley, CA station.
Conclusion
For over twenty years, it was a big pipe dream or, as many said, a scam. But now, the land is purchased, the right of way is being built, and the rolling stock is being built. It is really happening!
