Lonnie’s Open House Planned!

Once again, the kindest and most humble of Vegas royalty will open his home(s) to the public again this year in celebration of Nevada Day.  Dr Lonnie Hammergren, former neurosurgeon, former lieutenant governor and the man with a million other titles people and nations have bestowed upon him will let you tout his collection of Las Vegas history and a world of unique artifacts and items he has collected on his travels over his lifetime.

If you love Las Vegas history as much as I do, you won’t want to miss my 21st Annual Hammargren Home of Nevada History Open House Sat Oct 29 and Sun Oct 30 from 12 noon to 4 pm. If you have never seen the house, you’re in for a treat. I have collected everything Las Vegas from casino signs to memorabilia. I only open the house now once a year to the general public. Advance tickets are going fast. Visit www.nevadaday.org for tickets and more information. Dr Lonnie Hammergren

Hammergren has been giving private tours of his home for 40 years. As a token of generosity, he has always asked for a donation for a local charity.  With the increase of people wanting to see his collection, he has had to add staff and add time for preparations, so now the token has become a door charge.  Still worth the time and the money!!  Trust me, you will never see this much history while having so much fun in one spot ever again!

And in past years, the good Doctor makes a little warning that this may be the last.  His health, the amount of time, energy and money it takes to make it all happen is taking a toll and this may truly be the last time…  So as I say every year, you need to go see this place!

It’s actually three houses combined into one lot and it drives the neighbors who move in after he started collecting, crazy.
