Time for a little Las Vegas Strip Update. Checking out what’s new, what’s going to be new, what’s going away, and what’s changed for October 2015.
The Las Vegas Arena
This $350 million MGM arena is slated to open in April of 2016. Already George Strait has scheduled a series of concerts there. The Pro Bull Riders will start holding their World Finals there in 2016 and if Las Vegas lands a National Hockey league franchise, this is where the will play. The Las Vegas Arena

Always popular, always free and always open! The fall set-up features the large water wheel, the tree that has eyes and of course, a lot of flowers. not as much as they used to, but still worth the time to visit and enjoy.
Grand Bazaar Shops
Caesars Entertainment can’t stand to see open land on their properties. So they tore up the front part of Bally’s and put in a bunch of “open air” shops and one large CVS Pharmacy store to open early 2016. The Grand Bazaar Shops
New Frontier/Alon
The New Frontier made way for an open lot that was supposed to be The Plaza. But the economy tanked and the organization behind the project went bankrupt. Australian billionaire James Packard and some friends bought the land at a fire sale and plan to open up Alon. A 1,100 room, twin town casino resort. The land still sits empty…
Stardust/Resorts World Las Vegas
Boyd Gaming wanted to ditch the mom and pop tourist on the Strip in favor of tapping into the Wynn market. So they blew up the world famous Stardust and started to build Echelon. But their pockets were not as deep as they thought and they never finished the project. Resorts World bought the site and is now putting things into motion to break ground for Resorts World Las Vegas.
The Riviera Resort
One of the legendary resorts that made Las Vegas the Entertainment Capital of the World. Now it sits empty and awaits its date with dynamite. In its place will be a parking lot and offices for the expanded Las Vegas Convention Center.

The Lucky Dragon
This little boutique hotel and casino located on the north side of Sahara Ave will have 201 rooms and be dedicated to the Asian local and tourist. Everything about it will scream “ASIA”. From its name to its design to every one of its features. It sits where the Allure Condominium project was supposed to build a second tower. After the economy crashed, they decided to go for a hotel-casino instead.

The Vegas Tourist Fun Fact
Where the Allure now stands is where Las Vegas mobster Tony Spilotro had his hideout and ran his operation from. The store was called the Gold Mine.
