Yes, Halloween is a Vegas Holiday!

Halloween is a Vegas Holiday

If you were to designate a holiday for Las Vegas and have a reason to party, there can be no better one to choose than Halloween.  And if you are ever on the Vegas Strip on Halloween or the weekend leading up to it, you know what I mean, its strange and kinky taken to the next level.  Even for Vegas, it’s a bit over the top!

Not that we ever need a reason to kick back, raise the skirts and lower the tops, Halloween just seems to give adults a reason to do it more than normal and with a lot more shock value.  The clubs have contests for the best (least) costumes.  The Strip is loaded with adults dressed up looking for tricks and treats, even the buskers clean up a bit and take it up a notch.

Seriously, Nevada Day is a state holiday here.  The day commemorates the admission of the state of Nevada into the union on Oct. 31, 1864. It was originally observed on Oct. 31 – Making Halloween a holiday.  But since 2000,  it has been observed on the last Friday of the month of October. This year, we are celebrating Nevada’s 152nd birthday.

And no Nevada Day would be complete without the Hammargren Open House!!
